Richter 9.3. Duration 10 minutes. The December 26, 2004 earthquake caused the entire planet to vibrate as much as 1cm. The waves in Meulaboh were reported to be 15 metres in height. Inundation more than 3 km inland. An estimated 40,000 people lost their lives in Meulaboh.
